Goodbye Lester

I just found out yesterday that my cat Lester had to be put down yesterday.
I got Lester when I was 15 years old and just a few weeks away from turning 16. He was a year old when we got him.
He had originally been owned by someone who then decided that they didn't want him anymore. He was found by my stepfather's sister and her family. They couldn't keep him because they already had a dog and the dog chased him around. So he was brought to an animal shelter and we decided to... adopt him. And he has been my best bud for the last 10 years. He was 11 years old.
What really hurts is not just the fact that he's now gone and I'll never see

In Honor of my Grandfather

Today marks the 50th anniversary of my grandfather's death. My dad was five when he lost his father. My grandfather was swimming in a lake. But he got his leg caught in seaweed and he drowned. I never knew my grandfather and my dad didn't know him for very long. But he was here, I know he would be proud of his son. Grandfather, I hope your watching over us and just know that your family misses you so much.
